Under the hood of any trim level of the new 2022 Ram 3500 is a 6.4-liter V-8 gasoline engine with an eight-speed automated transmission system. Depending on the drivetrain selected, the engine has a maximum output of 410 horsepower channeled to the truck’s wheels. The 2022 Ram 3500 comes with a 6.7-liter turbocharged inline-6 standard diesel engine and a 6.7-liter turbocharged inline-6 high-output diesel engine. The former produces 370 horsepower and 850 lb.-ft. of torque, while the latter has 420 horsepower and 1,075 lb.-ft. Power is sent from the diesel engines to the truck’s wheels via a six-speed transmission.
